One Man’s Waste, Another Man’s Treasure From discarded textiles found in the school storage, a new whole emerges. More than 600 fragments gradually took shape — each differently, each in its own way.On their own, they appear as fragments; together, they form an imagethat could not exist otherwise. A large-scale abstract portrait capturesthe moment between who we were and who we are becoming.
Material once meant to be forgotten gains new meaning. Recycling becomes a process of transformation — of material and of the individual. A record of transformation.
Of material. Of the individual. Of the group. Perhaps it will change over time. Perhaps it will disappear. But for now, it captures a single moment— a moment when fragments become a whole.
