IES Grupo Cántico Celebrates the Multiplier Event for the European Project 'School ARt Gallery'

On May 20th, IES Grupo Cántico hosted the multiplier event for the School ARt Gallery project, an initiative co-funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ program. The day served as the grand finale to months of collaborative work bringing art, education, and technology together in the classroom.

During the event, Ana Rojas, representing the XUL Foundation, formally presented the completed mural to students and faculty. The gathering also featured a public reading of an article detailing the creative process, written by student Sonia Baena, which is available on the artist's website.

One of the morning's most moving moments was led by artist Sofía Cande (@art_syamhope), who conducted the workshops and implemented the artwork. Cande led an interactive activity where participants tied colorful threads to the fence surrounding the mural, simulating a woven fabric. The dynamic served as a visual metaphor for how community paths intertw in education, the neighborhood, and life.

The organizers expressed special thanks to Sofía Cande, teacher Manuel Cruz, the school leadership, and especially the 10th-grade students (4º de ESO) for their direct involvement throughout the entire process. It was an inspiring experience showing that education and urban art continue to go hand in hand.
